Attendance/ Tardies

A student’s regular attendance is the highest determining factor of school success. More than 10 absences per year is considered habitually truant.

Please make sure to call the school office by 9:30 to excuse your student on the day of their absence or they will be marked unexcused and the automated system will alert parents. District policy states that after 3 days, attendance will remain as originally marked.

Being on time every day is found to be as important to classroom success as is attending regularly.  If your student comes to school after the bell, they need to stop by the office to get a pink tardy slip. This lets their teacher know their attendance has been updated.

As Mandated by the state, Students must be in attendance at least 1/2 of the day to be considered present. Therefore, students who leave before or come after 12:30pm (11:00am on Fri) will be marked with an E. Even though students are marked excused, vital instruction and learning takes place, please understand the importance of having them at school for any amount of time.

When students are late more than 40 minutes, they will be marked X for extremely tardy.

When students are checked out after 12:30pm (11:00am on Fri), they will be marked with a C for checked out early.
